Leather dye - Is the airbag in leather
Hi,
I wanted to dye my steering wheel (original black 4 spoke on a 993). Can I apply the dye on the airbag too? or is the airbag in other material than leather? Thanks! |

You should be able to tell the difference by visual inspection. I'm going to try to dye my plastic cover with leather dye and see how it works. Craig

The airbag isn't leather (I have a '95) it is some sort of synthetic material. You may be able to apply some dye to it but no guarantee it will work. You may have better luck with SEM spray paint, it is for vinyl interiors, etc. and works very well.

I used surflex on my vinyl airbag and it worked fine, just make sure you clean it well first and let it dry before application... two thin coats are better than one thick coat..

I think the SEM is better for plastic.
