993 stock caster values

I've been looking at some 993 for sale recently and I noticed that many of them have what seems to be positive caster...i.e. the wheel is not centered in the wheel well but is shifted forward. There is no accident or alignment change according to the seller. Is this expected?

Caster is the side view inclination of the steering kingpin axis (in the 993 case, the strut). It is measured on an alignment machine and it effects the steering self-centering force among other things. You can have lots of positive or negative camber with the wheel in the center of the flare. The wheel is not centered in the flare on an early 911 because the flare is not a simple semicircle and also the wheel was just put there. I think for clearance when the wheel turns. It is towards the rear of the front flare on an early car. That is all just cosmetics, though.
