tachometer
My tach is giving erroneous readings. Can this be fixed? Is this a DIY? Where can I get a replacement if I need to?
TIA |

The tach on these cars is pretty reliable. I would try a swap with a similar unit before trying a replacement because it is not an inexpensive part. If you put the P/N in a post, you may find someone with an extra that they would be willing to let you borrow. You may not be getting a signal to the tach. There are a variety of reasons for that, try a known good unit first.
It would not be a DIY. There are a few places that can repair the tach. North Hollywood Speedometer is one and Palo Alto Speedometer is another. Both of these outfits advertise in PANORAMA magazine. You are a PCA member, right? Good Luck, Mark |
