What the heck is this part found in the sunroof cavity?

Found this piece inside the sunroof cavity ('90 C2 964) once I removed the driver side sunroof track. It was resting just aft of the sunroof hole in the roof and had a bit of grease on it.

It may be some random feral part that's unrelated to the sunroof, who knows. Didn't see a similar piece on the passenger side or in the sunroof parts diagram. Oh, and it's not a tube (both ends are closed off).

Anyone know what it is?

(excuse the dirt and dog fur - it's an outdoor rug)

That is an alignment pin that locates the rear end of a sunroof track (left or right) to It’s respective hole in the interior structure of the roof. How do I know? I broke one once. Has your sunroof been disassembled? We’re the back ends of the tracks pulled, cleaned, lubed and reinstalled? Probably missed at that time.

Hah, yep, I just about to post the same. I fingered it out when I went to remove the passenger side rail. This plastic thing necessarily get pooped out by the guide when you slide the rail out of the car. That's why I found this one floating around free right next to the guide.

It's actually shown in the parts diagram, but not as a separate part. Here it is peeking out the end of the rail:
