OBC display quit

Hello all,

My '91 C2's computer display (in the tach) just went dark. I checked ALL the fuses under the trunk hood and there wasn't any blown fuses. Kinda weird that is has worked perfect and then just went dead. I also took a flashlight and shined it onto the LED to see if any words could be seen. I thought that it might just be a back light back light, but I cant see anything.

Any ideas on causes and what to check next?

Thanks in advance.

Have you pulled the tach and checked the bulb that illuminates the display from the rear? Mine was blown giving a similar issue. Also, some of the OBC displays are really dark. I don't know if they fade or go dark suddenly like yours did.

I will get around to pulling the tach and checking the bulb. Sure wish I didnt have to remove the steering wheel to pull it.

I used to pull the steering wheel to do this, but now I don't. If you pull the tach out slightly, disconnect the wire plugs, turn it about 90 degrees, you can wiggle it out. It is a pain but easier than pulling the steering wheel.

Thanks, I will give it a try.

Did you ever resolve this, as my OBC has just gone off today.
