Thanks fellows for all the informative posts. I would have never found a set of bearings without this thread.

I notice in the case extension for the primary shaft, there is a double lip rubber seal for the shaft, just above the lower bearing. Appears to be there in order to restrict the engine oil and oil mist to only that little lower bearing.

Have never seen a parts list for this distributer, so cannot give a part number or reference number. Still I wonder whether anyone has located a source for the seal?? Sorry I cannot provide a photo because I dare not attempt to remove this 25 year old seal without having a replacement for it on hand.

Further to post #57 on the previous page discussing the differences in the NX bearings and having replaced a couple on factory original distributors, the bearings removed were as expected, the NX 12-XL type with the oiling holes.

Hey DIDDi is this Ebay listing yours or just one that you found and are passing along? I noticed that there was no belt included...looks like just the bearings and roll pin. Are we able to order a complete "kit" (all bearings, roll pin, and belt) directly from you? I noticed that the other ebay listing had FAG bearings and the belt...again are you just passing this info along?

I think the age of these distributors may be creating a higher likelihood of unexpected bearing failure.

You can see a failed belt. Not easy to find a failed distributor bearing.

Consequences can be very expensive.

See related thread:

Engine Damage from Failed Distributor
