993 c4s

Just got out of a 87 930 and into a 97 c4s wow what a difference I can live without all the power.
I truly think Porsche has figured it all out in this car.
Very happy will add pics soon.
The oil dipstick is so long?
Do you guys go by the Gage or the dipstick ?
Need to wire up daytime running light any help with pics

Thanks

Use the dip stick for accurate oil level. Gage can be off significantly. You don't want to overfill...

Welcome aboard and +1 for the dipstick over the gauge.

I use gauge for general idea and dipstick for actual assuming you know your gauge is working. If unsure, always use dipstick. I check oil biweekly or anytime I add gas.

I have had a 930 and a couple of longhoods my last 911 was an SC with a 3.6 in it. It was fast but I think my 95 993 C2 is almost as quick without all the hassle.I agree Porsche got it right with the 993. Mine is a keeper.
Last time I did daytime running lights was on a 99/996 I used a short jumper in the fusebox to power the fog lights from a circuit that was powered with the key on. I think it was a seat heat fuse I used. The wire can be removed after the car passes the RIV inspection . If you want a more expensive /permanent solution you can buy a relay from the aftermarket for about $60 from places like Can.Tire. which does the same thing but sends about 8 volts to the headlights until you over ride it by turning on the headlight switch. I was concerned that the reduced voltage wasn,t going to be good for my HID lights, the idea is to lengthen the bulbs life with reduced daytime voltage. Porsche uses a 2 stage relay in Canada which is likely a couple hundred and I am not certain the wiring harness is the same even if you purchase the relay.
