ultra stubborn flywheel position sensor

aloha all, i'm replacing a defective crank position sensor on a tiptronic 1991 c2 and can't get it free even with some force. has anyone else experienced this? i live in hawaii so corrosion is always an issue but this thing will not budge. (yes, i removed the allen mounting fastener). i'm to the point of considering dropping the exaust so as to get a pipe wrench or such on it, as the access is limited. please does someone have any ideas?? it seems ridiculous that it should require this sort of force to be removed. i'm not concerned about the sensor being damaged, as i'm replacing it, but i surely don't want to damage the bellhousing. thanx all.gb

aloha all, unbeleivable, apparantly some nimrod had replaced the sensor before and secured it into the bellhousing with what looks like j-b weld. i have not a clue why. no wonder no one had seen this one before. cheers, geoff
