Hot Feet

So my feet were on fire while driving my 964 for the last few thousand miles. Passenger side was normal. I went through all the posts, checked the survos, etc.

Turns out the heater tube was busted - ripped at both ends in the tube left of the footwell. Heat was pouring into the car and my poor AC tried to keep up with it.

I removed the tube and blocked off the heat coming in from the chassis.

Problem solved... at least for now.

So, what is above the heat tube? That's obviously effed up too, otherwise the heat wouldn't have come through the vents. Is there another flap down there or something? More hidden survos?

Thanks,
James

Actually, the heat is coming from the rear blower through the body tubes. Those heater tubes just connect the body ports to the HVAC assembly. There are flaps in the HVAC that block off the flow when not needed.

If one heater tube is removed you will get heat from both the body portal and the HVAC inlet as the heat from the HVAC inlet is coming from the body tube on the other side and just passing throught the HVAC.

You may have bad servos if indeed the ac was on and the flaps were not actuated.
