My new (to me) 1996 993

Well, after about 6 years I am back to having a p-car in the garage. It was well maintained by it's previous owners and I couldn't pass it up.

These are a couple of photos from the dealer. The color looks black in these pictures, but it is actually blue. Can anyone tell if the front brakes are real big reds? I think they are. I'm sure the size is hard to tell from the picture. The rotors/pads all appear new.

The driver's side tailpipe appears slightly out of alignment. Are these what the standard tips look like? The exhaust note is louder (in a good way) than I remember. The mufflers do have factory part #'s, though.

My first project will be replacing a torn CV boot.

Congrats! Exhaust tips are easily adjusted. Just make sure they're cold!

Midnight Blue nice!
Those tips look like B&B tips...They do not look like stock tips.

Looks good, but big reds don't fit under the stock wheels. As said the exhaust tip is held on with one clamp, there super easy to adjust, but a PITA to get perfect.

Not sure what or if you have planned for upgrades, but here's a list to get you started;

-MY'02 Rims (wider & look way cool)

-Golden Rod shift linkage (more precise)

-Lowering & stiffening the suspension (improved cornering, general handling & looks)

Cheers,

Paul.

enjoy your new car
not likely they are "big reds" hiding under 17" cup wheels, but the "blacks" still stop quite well!

Take the wheel off and measure the diameter of the rotor

If it's 304 mm then it's the stock S4 brakes, if it's 322 mm then they are big reds, if its 330 mm then it's a GT3 brake. I believe those are the only three calipers that bolt on the the stock mounts.
