While I was clumsily trying to wax
the car, a big blob of Zymol wax fell on the cab top of my 993.
The spot is about the size of a quarter. Is there anything that would remove this spot? (I've tried soap and water with no success). Thanks in advance. Also, is there a product that can be applied to a cabriolet top to re-blacken it? <a href="http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v58/ashley1888/?action=view¤t=DSCF0006-6.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v58/ashley1888/DSCF0006-6.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> |
There is a product I have used before to clean and restore canvas tops... Ragg Topp... check it out.
On the wax, You can try the old trick of using a heat gun and some paper from a shopping bag. You might soften/melt it enough to come loose? Carnauba is really hard. Griot's spray on wax will act as a solvent, but I don't know if that will just spread your problem. |
Have you tried using a soft bristle tooth brush and some soap such as Shout stain remover diluted with water.
Do not rub the tooth brush back and forth while pressing down on it hard. Hold the brush into the stain and use small 1/16" oscillations to agitate the stain. In fact, all you want to do is press the bristles gently into the weave and jiggle the brush. Rinse after you are done. |
Just like Traveller said but try some simple green. Should take it out. I have been using simple green for over 12 years of detailing.

Get a soft brush, & either Wax Remover, or Microfiber Cleaner, it will get it out. Hopefully it did not bleach the top. |
Coke on a soft clothe (dabbing as oppose side stroke) took care of pine sap...

I thought it would. I'm glad to be able to help out, especially on something as important as a Porsche. SmileWavy |
Call Griots Garage they have stuff that takes dried wax off of rubber & plastic peaces that works great!
