Last fun-drive of the season?

Yesterday morning I thought "Gee, why not take a drive to get some breakfast?" decided to drive to Little Compton, RI, b/c it's a beautiful drive (~45 minutes) along coastal roads, dotted with farms, etc.

Almost 5 hours later, I returned. It was hardly a direct route...Dartmouth, Russells Mills, Westport, Adamsville, Little Compton, Sakonnet, Tiverton 4 Corners, Tiverton, Westport Point, and a few other villages I'm sure I've omitted! Great fun to be driving in December in New England...dirty car and all!

I know what you mean. Any driving time these days is appreciated. Me and the wife went to a wedding on Saturday night and took the Porsche. Any reason is good enough for me and I will not put her away until they start salting.

Hi Chris,
Glad to see that there are still a few "late-season" guys out there!

Late season driving is one of the reasons I decided to sell the '84. Better HVAC. It's nice that the defrosters and heater actually work, not to mention the A/C. Beautiful cars by the way.

Looks like temps in the mid-30s and sunshine here today. Hasn't snowed yet, so I'll fire up the flat-six again! :-)

I took mine out last night as well. Same deal here, no real snow, just some flurries and the temps are still above freezing.

There Is No "Last Drive" Here

One of my favorite drives is on the Talimena Scenic Byway, running between Talihina, OK and Mena, AR.

Brunch or Lunch along the way at the Queen Wilhelmina Lodge is excellent, as well!

Bad news: It's been cold and snowing since Sunday evening. P-car not happy. Driver less happy.

Good news: Days are getting longer.

*ugh*

OK, onto thoughts of Christmas!

Happy Holidays!

Yes the days are longer about a second a day. The road will be snow covered for the next 3 months

Yes it appears that the season is officially coming to an end. How many days until spring?

Looks like, on the day after Christmas, that my luck has run out...12"+ snow forecast for today!

:-(
