Hello! new to 993 forum, a two Targa family
Folks,
I've owned an 89 Targa for 12 years and learned a lot from the 911 forum ( and a couple of Wayne's books ). This week we couldn't pass up an opportunity to buy a 1996 993 Targa. We, and especially the spouse, have always admired the big glass roof Targas. She is Midnight Blue metallic with pale grey leather, 91k miles. My mechanic has always worked on her, just did a major service and clutch, so vouched for her overall mechanical condition. Paint is very good with , of course, a few chips on the nose. Has anybody determined , on the 993 oil temp gauge, what the marks indicate, temp wise? I have a calibrated gauge on the 89, the insert that pops in the back of the guage. Can't do that with this one! And I did search this forum and didn't get much. Cheers, Jess ![]() ![]() |

Beautiful car and nice find. The targas are pretty rare. Love the midnight blue as well (but I'm biased). I can't help with the temp numbers but I'm sure someone will chime in though.
Chris

Way cool. I used to have an '89 targa- great car, but I must say the 993 suits me better.
How about plates that read newtrga & oldtrga?
