964 Air Flow Meter to 993 MAF

Anybody have experience upgrading their 964 Air Flow Meter to a 993 Mass Air Flow?

My 964's Air Flow Meter may have issues, so I if it needs replacing I'm thinking I might as well upgrade it.

I've searched here and Rennlist, but haven't been able to get a definite procedure or list of parts.

I am interested if anyone chimes in. As far as I can tell not easy or cheap. FVD and Vitesse have a kit, but big bucks. There is a used one on Rennlist for sale by Vitesse.

I was hoping to keep things as stock as possible, though probably with a cone air filter if possible.

The Vitesse kit seems waaay overpriced.

I am running a promotive MAF with standard air box; you will need a chip for the MAF. Nothing to the installation. I got a used MAF at a good price.

and what difference in throttle response and power have you noticed? might be doing this too if it's worth it and a re map on a rolling road.

I think it has been addressed on Rennlist and there was limited difference. No personal experience but I was kind of following it for myself and decided it was not the best bang for buck but certainly don't want to claim to be any kind of expert. Steve W or Tyson S would be far more qualified.
