Input Shaft Seal

Hello guys,

So I tried to remove the seal from the bell housing but it just hard to come out and all I did was making some mess. I was very careful not to damage inside the bore so it's still clean with no scratch. I just cannot grab the small piece in the tight spot.
Please give me some idea to take the ***** out.

Thanks in advance,

BW :)

Hey BW, the seal is way deep inside the housing so it's going to be a little tough. Have you tried a curved pointed pick tool with a handle like a screw driver? That's what I used. You can also drill two small pilot holes and screw in two metal screws and pull the seal out with two pairs of pliers.

I am ready to put the engine tranny back in this weekend. Good luck.

Thanks bazar for the input.

Yeah, I will get the curved pointed pick tool and give it a try.

Now I think I should have gotten the special tool in the first place since they have a good deal on ebay.

Finally out!

After about 90min of bout, the ***** finally came out. I used a pair of needle nose pliers. Once I grabbed a tiny part of metal portion of seal, I pulled it with all my strength. It had finally popped out in my 3rd pull.
I will gladly pay an extra for the special tool next time.

Pardon for the ugly picture. Just for the record...

Thanks :)
BW

Poor oil seal, it took a lot of stabs and beating. :D

Mine only took one stab and it pulled right out.
