Keys for 993

I just purchased my first 993 C2 last Sat. The dealer only gave me one key for the car and said the previous owner was looking for the other 2, but was not hopeful in getting them. Is my only recourse going to a dealer to get 2 new spare keys and 2 electronic fobs that unlock the car? I'm sure this is not inexpensive. Does anyone know how much? Do I have other options?

Thanks in advance... I love this car!

You didn't mention it, but I am assuming you got one electronic remote with the single key that you received.

New remotes ran me $128 from Sunset last fall.

Up to four remotes can be programmed into your system and whenever doing so, it cancels out any remote that was previously programmed into it, which is good for security reasons. You need the code to do so which is available from a dealer.

Yes, I did receive one fob to disarm the Immobilizer... I'll be getting another from Sunset as you suggested. I'm glad you told me new programming cancels the existing fob, I did not know that...

Thanks,

Erik

Could you supply the "Sunset" info, as I only got 1 key (and remote) also. Thanks in advance.

If the back of your remote has a label with FCC ID LXP RKY 116, then you are looking for immobilizer remote (315 MHz) part number: 993 618 259 02.

Ask for Luke Rogers at 1-800-346-0182, Sunset Porsche.
