Side window trim removal
Hi all,
I'm preparing my car for a respray and I was wondering what's the easiest way to remove the lower window trims? Or can you loosen them enough to raise them a bit? Last edited by Aatos; 03-22-2011 at 10:06 AM.. |

I just replaced the driver's side black metal trim (under the quarter window). The trim piece is held in with 5 screws and some sort of sealant. In order to get to these screws, the window must come out first...

Okay, I figured out the rear quarter windows and I've gotten to the doors now. Getting the door handles off was something of a challenge and I'm not sure how I'm ever going to get the black plastic lock cover back in there ever again
.Anyway, it's not very obvious for me how to remove the exterior door trim (the one between glass and lower door) without damaging it. Any tips for that? Last edited by Aatos; 03-22-2011 at 09:55 AM.. |

Hah, the door trims were somewhat of an anticlimax, they're not hold on by much of anything. For archival purposes:
1) Lower the window 2) Wedge the trim up with suitable tool, it should come up easy: ![]() ![]() 3) The trim is attached to the door only with bunch of these spring pins:
