Side window trim removal
Hi all,
I'm preparing my car for a respray and I was wondering what's the easiest way to remove the lower window trims? Or can you loosen them enough to raise them a bit? Last edited by Aatos; 03-22-2011 at 10:06 AM.. |

I just replaced the driver's side black metal trim (under the quarter window). The trim piece is held in with 5 screws and some sort of sealant. In order to get to these screws, the window must come out first...

Okay, I figured out the rear quarter windows and I've gotten to the doors now. Getting the door handles off was something of a challenge and I'm not sure how I'm ever going to get the black plastic lock cover back in there ever again
![]() Anyway, it's not very obvious for me how to remove the exterior door trim (the one between glass and lower door) without damaging it. Any tips for that? Last edited by Aatos; 03-22-2011 at 09:55 AM.. |

Hah, the door trims were somewhat of an anticlimax, they're not hold on by much of anything. For archival purposes:
1) Lower the window 2) Wedge the trim up with suitable tool, it should come up easy: ![]() ![]() 3) The trim is attached to the door only with bunch of these spring pins: ![]() |
