993 60k mile service, What items and how much?

I am considering purchasing a 1996 cabriolet. I have located two cars that are nearly identical and both are in excellent condition, one has 40k miles and the other 60k miles. The 60k mile car already had the 60k mile service.

What are the major service items with the 60k mile service? What does the average 60k mile service cost?

Thanks in advance.

Gary

Hello Gary. You cab check pcar workshop for the checklist for the 60k service. I can't comment on the price because I don't really know. I'm sure someone here will have a idea though.

I had a 60k done on my 993 last year, it ran around $1800 IIRC. Probably a bit more if you go to a dealer. This included oil change, plugs, caps and rotors, fuel/oil/cabin filters, belts, brake fluid flush. Plug wires and valve covers were additional.

You are dealing more with age than with mileage. Unless the records show that this level of service was done in the last two years, I'd do a very complete service. Every fluid, replace the clutch slave cylinder, consider brake lines, distributor belt, plugs/wires (wires are the spendy part), etc. etc.

I did mine and it was about $1K in parts (no wires), then about 6 hours work.
