Looking at buying a 96 C4S...couple of questions

I am looking at buying a 96 C4S. The prior owner sent it to the local Porsche dealer to go thru prior to selling. He replaced all fluids, belts, valve cover seal and oil fill tube seal prior to listing for sale. It was also discovered that the right front strut/shock is leaking. I know the C4S has the turbo suspension, but does that include ROW M030 shocks and springs or are the shocks and springs the same on all US 993? For the price I am getting the car for, I will be doing the shock replacement. But I am thinking that if I am going to replace the shock, I might as well do the springs and shocks all around and get it to M030 height. Thinking Bilstein HD and H&R. Please let me know if I am on the right track or if the C4S should already be at that height and it is literally just needing shocks and not springs.

Thanks

Tom

If your springs are original, even with the MO30 suspension option, your ride height will be high. This is true for all cars sold here. Many go to ROW ride height with a spring change either with Porsche ROW MO30 or MO33 (normal ride but lower height) springs. Bilstein HD or Koni shocks are the common shock upgrades done at the same time.

There are other more expensive options that a search here will reveal. If you will be tracking your car, you may want to consider them. I would take my time and decide what you really want to accomplish. Talk to owners and try driving cars with different setups as this can get expensive. You want to wind up with something that is best for your needs on the first try.

I recently changed to the HD/MO33 combo and am very pleased with the result in my car which I do not track.

I have the M033 and Koni FSD set up on my C4S. I am happy with the ride quality. I do not track the car.
