Mine has 110K..have resealed almost everything thru the years..My eng. is still very strong...I do a couple of track events each year. Good handling and fun to drive. If I were to buy that car I would take eng. out and reseal. That would include the cam towers, PS pump drive, rear maine, and front maine (back of eng.).....then enjoy!

What "oil seals" are you talking about?

Can you quantify these oil leaks and where they're coming from?

Most of these air-cooled cars have damp spots and drips here and there, but they're not gonna deplete the motor of oil or leave you stranded.

As long as the car isn't pissing oil, and you can live with some minor drips on your garage floor, you should be alright.

Here's a great thread that goes over many of the common leak points and fixes.

not sure what you were looking at before but these cars are just fun to drive hands down.
I am putting up with some drips. Cant even measure the trade offs ...

I had a high HP turbo and sold it for my 964 I have really enjoyed the 964 new enough that it has the creature comforts I wanted. Has Nice powerful engine though no turbo. Great shifting and yes has a few oil leaks even though the engine was rebuilt 6k ago. I have noticed as I drive it more the leaks are getting better. And as far as price they are getting fairly expensive not much out there less then 19k

hELL I LOVED THE WAY THE 90 964 COUPE/W SUNROOF DROVE!! IT DROVE GREAT AND SHIFTED WAY BETER THAN THE 1973 I HAD AND ALSO THE 86 CAB I DROVE THE OTHER DAY. bUT I DID DRIP SOME OIL WHICH THE OWNER TOLD ME HAS BEEN LIKE THAT FOR OVER 10K. I ALSO Saw the money he dumped into it. He told me he not letting go any cheaper than 22k. I'm taking it to my mechanic this week for a look. Also a/c don't work but has all new tires . i have to say the car looks great with not a scuff mark around. It is a tough choice!! i know one thing i'm taking my time finding the right car!!! Is it also common of a/c problems?? Thanks all since i am a newbie to these 964.
