90 3.6 Oil leak
Anyone out there know if the Oil line to the engine on the passenger side is a prime candidate for the drips I've developed. someone suggested that it could be the same connection as a 993 which uses a small o-ring as a seal. I can't see much from underneath until I remove the remaining vertical heat shields and possibly the exhaust.
It's not the valve covers, and not the heads or barrels so I'm hoping to nail this down soon. Thanks for any help. Fred

Fred, It might be the power steering cam shaft seal. I let mine go for about a year, finally got tired of cleaning the oil off the heater box(passenger side). This is becoming a more common leak on these cars. When I saw the old seal it's no damn wonder it was leaking, all dried up and cracked. $130 for replacement.

Check the wheel arch lines too. They're known to become leaky.

I had both & cam seals... My wallet is $800 dollars lighter - but no oil on the garage floor.

Indeed, these spots are very common for oil leaks, unfortunately...

Robert, Can't help on this one. I had my shop do it along with a valve adj. last fall. Pretty tight quarters up in there and more than special tools it probably would forever if working from a creeper underneath. I've made it a rule to let things leak until there are "a few" and have my wrench fix'em when the car is in for other service work. This minimizes the labor $ and he11 what do I care about a few leaks?
