993 clutch master cylinder

Does anyone have a diagram of the internals of a 993 clutch master cylinder? I disassembled mine and it was full of crud-just want to be sure something hasn't disintegrated in there. Seals and bore look excellent.

Just to finish up, I disassembled, cleaned, and reinstalled the master cylinder and all is well.
All the crud in there was just that-pretty amazing.

I just replaced my clutch slave cylinder; the clutch master cylinder is being replaced this week.

When I drained the hydraulic fluid reservoir, the fluid coming out of the clutch circuit was quite dark and it was replaced mid 2010, yet the brake fluid that has been in that circuit longer, came out crystal clear. Go figure.

When I disassembled the clutch slave cylinder, there was some kind of black creamy substance within it.

I'm wondering if the sections of rubber hose coming down from the hydraulic fluid reservoir to the clutch master cylinder aren't slowly deteriorating due to the fluid. The inside of that hose is black.

I think the hose to the slave does degrade. It seems most people replace it when they replace the slave. Same for me-brake fluid clean and clutch fluid dirty. After everything I found in the clutch master I think that removing and inspecting the slave is next. Will probably just replace it and the hose.

Well if it does, then Porsche chose a hose using material that is incompatible with hydraulic brake fluid over time..

The brake system uses rubber hoses at each wheel as well, and that fluid isn't affected at all.

I'll be flushing my clutch fluid a year after installation of the new parts. If it comes out dirty, I'll be looking for different hoses that feed the clutch master and slave cylinders.

And that is why I think it is the blue braided rubber hose feeding the clutch master cylinder from the hydraulic fluid reservoir.

I'll take my clutch master cylinder apart and see what the inside looks like. If it is just as dirty as the slave, then it is upstream of the master.

I'm interested to hear what you find in the master. Bob

Not much. Unlike the slave, the master was quite clean.

I only got around to disassembling it yesterday.
