What does this button do?

I just got a 964 and don't have an owners manual. What does the button on the right do, the one that looks like an exclamation point?

Cancels the central warning light ( ! on the oil pressure/level gauge) and any alert sounds associated with a warning. What 964 do you have? Usually where your iPhone is located is a dial switch to control rear spoiler and/or C4 traction lock.

Hi,

RS America. I have never heard of a warning canceler.

Here is a correct Owner's Manual for your year of car, but the RS America also came with a supplementary insert which I am guessing this manual won't have:

The purpose of the warning canceler is to turn off the distraction (if it is something you are not worried about) while racing. There is a video out there where Porsche talks about it and other things like why the ignition is on the left side.

On the 993, it's handy to cancel the "!" warning you get for low fuel.

This quirky feature makes me laugh every time I use it.

is there a snooze feature to it? :)
