Dead battery - 95 993 cab trunk light stays on
This morning I found out why the PO disconnected the trunk light. It drained my battery. I suspected there was a reason why it was disconnected.
I checked the micro switch at the hood latch. It seems ok: no continuity when latch is closed, continuity when latch is open. Any ideas where to look? Is there an electronic module that manages the lights? I have an early '95 model (built in '94) without an immobilizer (I think). |

Note that even with the front hood latch manually latched closed, the trunk light will come on when the driver's door is opened and go off 20 seconds after the driver's door is closed. It does that even with both interior lights switched to the "off" position.

Interesting. So, if my driver door interior light pin switch is defective it would cause the trunk light to stay on?
If that is the case, this might be my problem. My driver door switch is intermittent. |

If your driver door pin switch is malfunctioning it will keep the windows energized and that is a big current drain
