1990 porsche tiptronic
Hello,
I recently purchased a 1990 Porsche tiptronic. It is needless to say that I got taken. It would not get out of 2nd gear to save my life, and I could not get it in manual mode. I took it to a shop, and they told me that my ECU for engine and transmission is bad due to water getting in the car. I have changed those two ECUs. It seems that it is going to other gears and to manual mode. Now my ABS light is on and I was told that the car would not perform until the light is off. My instruments panel is not working-any suggestion? please help me figure out what is going on. thanks in advance.

First Question, was all this trouble IMMEDIATELY upon taking ownership?
Why do you state that you got taken? Did you have a PPI done prior to buying it? If not, ....... How and when did water get into the car? What is meant by "going into other gears" It's a 4 speed TIP, what does it not go into? If the ABS and instrument cluster are acting up after the new ECU's were installed, ask the shop to check out their work, as that is likely the cause.
