Smoking 993

My 1995 993 with 85,000 miles has started to smoke, the smoke is not coming from the tailpipe, but it is coming out of rear wheel area. The oil pressure gauge reads good pressure and the car drives the way it should. what is the problem, and what is the estimated repair expense. Thanks for the feedback

My 95 just started the same thing. We checked it out and it looks like its valve gaskets. 2 hours each maybe? So if you pay a shop $100/hr. close to $800.

Unless the leak is that obvious, degrease the engine, both above and below, drive it for a day and then look for leaks.

If it requires upper and lower valve cover seals, the parts are about $100 including new fasteners...less if you don't. A simple fix.

With I read the title " smoking 993 " I open the tread and thinking I was going to see a picture of my " smoking " 993

Is it right rear wheel ? did you just do an oil change or maybe just added oil ? if yes , it could be just over filled ??

What he said. I've done this before and had smoke in the same manner you describe. Goes away after a drive.
