Hello from Sunny Florida:
The Porsche of my dreams is starting to let me down! It recently started to blow what looks like exhaust fumes from one, or more, of the exhause pipes located at the extreme rear of the engine near the rear axle. The fumes blow about everywhere...and seem to vent out through the rear wheel wells. Would this indicate cracks in one, or more, of the exhaust pipes, notably the ones near the rear axle? Or could this simply be a blown gasket in the exhaust system? I really need your help on this! I've also noticed a clear liquid (no smell or taste) that seems to fall out of holes in the muffler covers. Where the engine was brought up to operating temperature, I heard a symphony of spits and sputters. Could this simply be water that build up in the muffler system over several days of heavy rainfall? I'm also getting some oil collecting along the lowest portion of the engine case where the two halves are joined together. Any idea where this oil is coming from? Thanks-A-Million. David Schmidt |

The engine probably started leaking oil from someplace above the exhaust and was dripping on the heat exchangers, generating smoke and exits through the diverters on each side of the car just in front of the rear wheels. When you turn on the heat in the cabin, the heated air with smoke will be diverted inside the cabin, not good. Let your engine cool down, degrease the engine, rinse off and start chasing oil leaks.
