964 vs 993 ignition coil
Hi everyone,
I have been troubles with my idle rpm, checking fuel delivery, AFM, wires, relays, but last night I saw a spark jumping from one the ignition wire and when I touched the coil they were burning. In order to replace these item what do you think regarding to switch the 964 coils by the 993 ones and use the DIY ignition wire set? Thank you in advantage! JC

993 is purported to work (see that other forum for a recent thread) but I think that there are some challenges associated with the installation- the form factor is different.

I can't comment on the interchangeability of 964 vs 993 coils, but I can on the DIY wire set. I made my own DIY wire set using Beru components and the quality of the new Beru wires is far better than what Beru used to use. Two years later, my DIY wire set that uses the original wire caps at the distributor cap and spark plugs is performing just fine. ![]() |
