964 rear reflector custom options

Hey guys, I had my rear reflector fall off at the track yesterday, I didn't realize it was so loose, oops!! Miraculously it didn't get run over but it did break cleanly in half. It wasn't a great example anyways, and i'm probably going to bond it back together. I just don't think I want to spend $300+ for a good used one. So I was thinking maybe i'd wrap it in some matte black vinyl or do something different to customize it. I was wondering if anyone here has done some similar vinyl wrap or any other custom options and could post pics?

Thanks!

I feel your pain. The price for this Marquee is way too much. What I did was glue it back together, sand it smooth then I bought some 4D Black (because my car is black) Carbon Fiber film from Ebay ($14.00)and applied it to the center reflector face. I actually think it looks better then the original. Love my 964 but always thought the Marquee on the rear was just too much) You can get other colors.

Hey nice Hooters girl, but do you have a pic of your reflector?

Yes i'm sure the black just blends in nicely on your car. My car is metallic red so i'm not sure black would suit it.

Hi Chris,
sorry no pic of the carbon right now. I have my sons removing the rocker panel sills and shark fin after a not so careful shop damaged them. They removed the marquee also to redo it since my quick repair of it cracked and you can see it under the film. I will post a pic when they are done. They make a nice gloss red carbon fiber film that would look good an yours. Load the video below:

I found an old pic when I had it painted black before I covered it. The sided markers are blacked out too.

Had my sons put it back for this pic before they stripped it for rework.

It looked much better before the glue failed and it cracked again. Next time we will grind open up the crack and use plastic filler then sand smooth before applying the film.

Dark smoke vinyl (92% translucent) for the last 5 years. Love it.

When I got her, mine were all smoked like this until I found the CHP loves to give tickets for not having red brake lights here in California.

There's red vinyl you can get to make them look red again. Also, is a red spray tint that work.
