Best tire for 17" Cup wheels?

Yes this is another tire and wheel question, but I need to buy front tires for my 96 993 with 17" Cup wheels. Currently have brand new Nexen tires in the back (have had car for 3 months), but some other worn out brand in the front. Fronts are 205/50/17. Any particular tire type recommended that won't break the bank? Also will a 215/45 or 40 fit the 17" rim?

Get the same Nexen style for the front, obviously in the correct size. You shouldn't mix brands of tires on these cars.

Thanks Wayne, I agree. Only problem it seems now is that Nexen only has 215/45 and no 205/50 on the 3000 series performance tire. Will the 215/45 work?

215/45/17 will fit a 7 inch wide rim just fine.
