964 Wheel Questions

Hello all. I have a 1990 964 C2. I have been experiencing a slow leak in a fairly new tire so I took it back in, they took off the tire and oh no, crack in the wheel (cup style). I need a new wheel. However, it is seemingly difficult to find a matching wheel (rear, 17x9, chrome). I'm considering a new set of 4 but there doesn't seem to be many (17x7, 17x9) on Ebay.
I'm not partial to any particular style, so any suggestions on 4 good, new wheels in the aforementioned size? Any favorites (styles) and, where the heck can I find them?
Thanks in advance.
p.s. My reading has led me to believe I should stay away from 18" wheels, correct? Too bad if so as there are more choices.

Apparently you read Adrians admonision against 18s on a 964 ...so did I..

It now appears that it is OK to do so, provided that you upgrade the rack brace to the 993 style

I am running 17s and am happy with them (because I sold the 18s I had before I confirmed that many are running 18s with no issues)
Upgrade the rack brace and go with 18s..enjoy the better tire selection

...better tire selection but harder ride and heavier unsprung weight on your corners =
heavier steering input and faster parts wear.
They do look fabulous though!

Some low cost options (compared to oem cup1s, assuming thats what you have):

Porsche Wheels and Tires
Porsche 17" Wheels
Porsche 17" Alloy Wheels

I like the look of the CUP 2s......

Just don't sell your old wheels. As soon as you do, you will come across a replacement for the cracked one.

It happens every time !

wheels

Thanks guys for the updates. I'll be looking at buying a compatible set and keeping the cups - with another eye out for a replacement wheel. Cheers! Oh, and the wheel is probably not repairable - a one inche open crack in wheel, fairly large.

Thanks !
This is on the 600 mile drive home after purchase.
Found that the car has Eibach lowering springs. About the right look for me....
