how can I open my door?

I have a LHD 911/964, the passenger door opens with the key no problems, the driver’s door half unlocks but it can’t make the final ‘click’. How can I get it fully unlocked so I can open the door and get to the engine? Any ideas, without damaging the door?

Have you tried to squirt some lube (NOT WD40) on the mechanism. WD 40 is not a lube , the WD stands for Water Displacing..

If there is room to use the little red tube that comes with most spray lubes try to use that, if not a small piece of tubing directed towards the lock/latch mechanism might work

Later 964's have an emergency release cable(for engine bay) behind the rear taillight.
Don't know if this helps.

I had similar problem with passenger door. You need to take the inside door panel out and lubricate the locking mechanism. You need to remove the plastic covers over the locking mechanism, 2 small screw in door jamb. Use PTFE spray not graphite in key mechanism too.
