964 little engine problem
Hallo,
I’ve a 1990 964 C2 with 103k km, bought in may. The car has been checked in a Porsche garage and they said that is ok, 0 accidents and well maintained. I have only a little problem: sometimes (2 time every 150 kms about) in mountain roads going flat out in frequent opening and closing gas, at about 4500 RPM seems that, for few seconds, doesn’t push, the engine doesn’t take regime. A well-known tuner said that 964 has 3 main engine sensors and could be one of them…. Have you any idea? Thanks in advance |
Does this happen while you are going down hill or right after? If so, that is a less-common but often cited issue. I don't believe there has been an answer to be honest.

Is your problem like this: "coasting downhill with your foot off the throttle and then when you step on the throttle again, the engine does not respond for what seem like several seconds" ??? If that the case, I have had the same issue and so does many other 964 owners. Please let me know, and I will tell you how I fixed mine.

Usually it happens uphill.
I think it is a little different from what you describe, anyway how do you fixed it? |
I replaced the idle and WOT micro switches for a different reason, but after that the problem I described before is completely gone, so my thought is that the idle switch was the cause.
