Question re: D 90's

I know these wheels are not loved by most, but I kind of like them. As they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

In any case. I have read that D 90's came in 9x16's on some 928's. Has anyone fitted them on a 964 and moved your 8's to the front?

Lastly, are the 9x16's readily available or are they rare, ie expensive?

9's (p/n 928.362.118.02, offset 52mm) are pretty rare, but you can find them. There was ebayer trying to sell set of 8 and 9's for several months.

Also there were magnesium D90's on C4 lightweight, I don't know if there was part #. Sky is limit for price of set of those.

PS. I personally like D90's and keep original set stored. Weight is hard to beat, they are lighter than magnesium Cup1's. Only modern 17in Fuchs are lighter. Tire selection is definately wider for 17's

I switch between 17" turbo twists with summer tires, and my 16" D 90's for with winter tires.

I saw these D90's for sale on eBay.. They look pretty darn good in black.

Yes, that is a sweet set up! Thanks for the info and it looks like I will be searching for a set of 9x16's on the 928 for sale section.

Very good info, I have a set of 7&9 X 16 D90s on my C4, and love them.

HOWEVER, I strongly believe the Mg D90s do not exist. I have several arguments against their existence, and ever since the C4RS came out, I have searched for info on these wheels, and NO ONE could ever substantiate any claims, or provide any credible document or picture, much less a wheel...

Which winter tires do you run? I finally got a decent set of 17" rims to run in the summer, so I am going to try next summer to abuse my almost-new (two track days) RE-11A's hard enough to not feel so bad putting winter tires on my 16" Design 90 rims. Having winter tires on the C4 would give me another safe option to get around in the winter when the snow isn't too deep.

I'm not Newsboy, but I run General Altimax Arctics on my D90's. Like them, but with my setup (KW V3) they will nick the insides of the wheel wells if the suspension is compressed while turning.

What size do you run on the D90's? Tirerack only lists Pirelli winter tires in the stock sizes.

I have Bridgestone Potenza all season 205 front and 225 rear on 16" D-90's for winter driving.

My Altimax Arctics are 215/55-16 rear and 205/60-16 front.
Unless the snow is deep, the C4 is better in the snow than my CRV by a significant amount.
