993 Throttle Cable Details

I'm trying to pull the throttle cable out of my 98 993, I don't need to pull the entire cable, just the sheathing that goes from the transmission area up to the throttle assembly. I need to do this to facilitate replacement of the cable where it passes through a bracket attached on the bottom side of the throttle body assembly. You can't feed the bracket through the engine sheet metal from the transmission side of the power train. So, I want to feed the accelerator cable from the engine bay side of the power train. If I have the throttle cable loose on both ends, it is simple to feed it through the engine tin to the front of the car. My issue is that I cannot locate a writeup on the best way to do this.

When you look at the throttle cable housing as it is routed under the car, there are several screwed break points along the cable. Not sure what they are for and which are the minimum number of joints that need to be separated in order to pull the cable out and free from the rest of the car.

I posted this on the Engine Rebild Page and got no response. Has someone replaced their throttle cable who would be willing to share the DIY for that procedure?
