91 964 turbo - hose question

Hello and greetings from Norway! I just bought myself my first 911, a nice 91 964 turbo 3.3! This is also my first post on Pelican Parts! Still waiting for my "964 bible" so i try here first!

My question is what the red/orange hose on the picture is for? It is not connected to anything on the bottom, it just lays against the engine block.. On the top it is connected to a black plastic "box" with some kind of sensor or something..

My oil filler cap is also leaking a tad, so i guess i just have to replace this with a new cap ...?

Thanks for answers!

Ok! By the picture in your link, it seems that it connects to the turbo.. Mine is loose, will this have any impact? Guess i should do something about this!

That is not the turbo, it's the heater blower motor in the engine compartment. It will not hurt anything other than you will not get all the heat in the cabin.

Ok i see - so it should not be connected to anything at the end? Just get the hot air fr the engine room out?

Yes it should be connected to 14a with a hose clamp. I am no turbo car expert, so can't say for sure, but it looks like that hose is supply air to the heater blower motor, should be connected to the blower motor via the hoses in place.

I believe that tube should be connected to the heater tube under the engine. If you turn your heater on and dial the temp knob up to max along with the fan speed, you should feel air blowing out of the lose end of that hose.

Ok, thank you so much for answers! The one thing i have trouble about is where to connect it.. I am talking about the lower end, not the one that is connected to the rigth rear shoulder.

I just replaced this hose on my 964 Turbo. It connects under the AC mount to a fitting from the cooling fan shroud. It's quite pricey from Porsche and I'm sure others have used non-OE versions with success. It's a pain to attach the new - you'll need to move the AC compressor out of the way. But it's not that big of a deal...

PS it is part #29 in that diagram (not #14)
