Question Replacing air duct

Hi all,
I washing the car last weekend and started to clean the engine when I noticed that the air duct (No. 964.106.403.02 ) attached to the alternator/fan had a huge hole in it. It's just a plastic piece that I believe vents air to the front cylinders? Anyhow, has anyone replaced this piece? What might be some of the pit falls of replacing this piece and how difficult will the job be if I do it myself. I really didn't have the time this past weekend to explore the idea.

Also, if I can't find this particular 964 part, can the 993 part be substituted?

TIA,
HB

Its an easy and pretty common repair. Pelican has them listed, 964 is different than 993, be sure you get the right one.

VERY easy to replace. I'm not a DIY guy but I did this easily. Like jhg said, this duct was replace on later 993. Even on early 993, the part # was one of a 964 and a 993 part does not fit.

The part can be found for 80$ on ebay or 90$ on our trusted host.

It leads to the heater blower. You need to get Adrian's book, the 964. Enthusiasts Companion.contains a wealth of information you will eventually use
