1st year of 996

Hi all,

What was the first year of the 996? My brother in law (an insurance agent) has a client inquiring about a 1999 996 and he can't find anything for it in his computer! Told him I would find out.

In 1999, the 911 model designation was 996, but searching some literature, computer programs, etc., won't actually list a '99 996. You would need to search as a '99 911.

1998 was the first year, but only in Europe. 1999 was the first year for North America.
