A Small alternator Questions…. (Pls)

Small questions if I may. I have been told that on idle or on revving (1500->3000 RPMs) a voltage greater or equal to 13.8 to 14.4 could and should be achievable ( no higher ) . My battery died most recently .... The voltage read at the new battery at idle is 13.55V ; Even if I am revving above 2000 ---> 3500 RPMs that voltage never changes - it actually sometimes drops to 13.45V at times while revving. Is this abnormal and should it warrant a closer look at the alternator , perhaps a rebuild ? Any and all insights would be so very welcome. Thank you .

It sounds like it may be time for an alt. rebuild.
If you have a way to monitor the voltage while driving, take it for a ride. If the voltage steadily drops your just running on the new battery voltage.

What is the voltage reading at the battery terminals when you turn on all the electrical loads like headlights, AC at idle?

I so truly appreciate your insights! When at idle the i) headlights ii) fog lights iii) defroster and iv) radio are tuned on the voltage at idle (800 - 1000 RPM) drops to around 13.15 - 13.2 .

It could be one of two things. Either the voltage regulator, or the alternator its self. You can get the voltage regulator for just a hair under $100. P/N: 928-603-142-00-M1

Probable voltage regulator.. It's located on the alternator and is a relatively east re/re. Certainly a cost effective test. Biggest pain is removing the alternator wires in the confined space. It's doable with patience.. The regulator swap is super simple.. Should read 14.4 at IDLE when done.

Thank you so much !!! Will replace/fix V-regulator or alternator this Monday and will definitely update !!!
