993 Cab conversion to manual latches??
 

Has anyone converted their $1k (x2) front motors to a 1986-ish style latch? I've read something about it in the 911 forum, like $650 to convert. I would love to do this, as my right motor gear stripped. I know I can replace the gear, just trying to avoid this again. Any thoughts?

I must be the only 993 cab owner that wants to remove a costly issue....
Anyways, if I can find one of these (see below) the bolt pattern seems to be the same as the motor.
