1994 turbo 3.6 sells for $330k

Anyone interested a yellow 3.6T sold at the gooding auction not to long ago for a $330k with buyers premiums.

A friend of mine who is there sent me pictures he seemed to feel the market was soft for Porsche's a nice 993 GT2 sold for only $885k expected to fetch 7 figures.

Just a bunch of mostly Porsche parts in these modded turbos except wheels and few other things. Was over 60 degres today. Can't wait for a good rain to wash the salt from the roads, Road America is a great place in the summer with events almost every week..

A few more. These are incredible builds, especially the yellow one that has been updated with some of the best stuff from Porsche since new. I first saw it for sale in the Dupont registry when at a airport when my wife bought me some reading material, some 20 or so years ago. The car came from an estate and I did not realize it was the same car until I found the license plate in the spare parts.

All nice cars however I just have a hard time seeing "collector cars" being sold with aftermarket wheels. Guess it's just a personal thing.

Not collector cars, these are performance modded earlier chassis that were either not available over here ( look at the yellow ones in the current Panorama) and ( by coincidence ) the yellow 3.6 and silver 993 ones @ Gooding sale. Ironically my silver 993 turbo was originally yellow. They were just built as fast cars 15 to 20 years ago, using what was available from Porsche Motorsports. In some circles these might be called "tribute cars" however that was not the original reason, as they were unobtainable here and few were made only for Euro buyers. Here are a few current photos with the more correct wheels and a few of the serious power plant w/ ITB TT and 12 injectors, with power output beyond the factory cars.

$885k was the hammer price with buyers fees it was $973,500. That was low for these some have sold for more but this was considered higher mileage.

Amelia Island auctions Gooding and Co.

Technically speaking the real ones were badged as a '911 GT' They are the predecessor to the GT2 and they were extremely rare even in Germany not to mention they didn't import them to the US.
