964 ABS issues?
Saw Bill V's comment about 964 having better brake bias w/out the PV. that got me thinking about my ABS. I upgraded my wife's '91 track 964 C2 years ago with the same 4 pot calipers as the later 964s have. Also switched the PV for the late one at the same time. Everything worked good till a few years ago when the aging ABS started being problematic. Usual things of bad wheel sensors and associated wiring. Latest issues seems to be a bad controller and probably maybe a bad pump too. Both would be substantial $$$ to replace.
So why not just take the gen 1 ABS completely out of the loop? She really liked her old SC and later '87 Targa and there brakes where essentially trouble free. I guess my only real question would be; is there a down side besides resale? Not sure that's even an issue since car is really more track toy than boulevard w/it's RS suspension, seats/harnesses/roll bar and lots of extra weight removed. |

Even on Track ABS is a big advantage.

Not so sure about the Gen I ABS, especially when it's not working. Right now the car is near unmanageable at track speeds in the wet. Can see the benefit on the 996 but that's a couple Gen newer.
