964 8 way seat woes

Hello All:

I am stuck. I have a driver's seat stuck all the way back in my 91 carrera 2 cab. I believe it is the switch, but now can not get access to the 4 rear allen bolts to liberate the seat from the car.

I read on other threads that you can manually move the seat, but this has only resulted in broken teeth on the plastic gears....Now what do I do? I would like to limit the damage I have already caused.

Thanks in advance for any words of advice or guidance.

Tewfiks, you might also post over on the 911 forum. The 964 power seat visually is very similar if not identical to the late Carreras, so perhaps someone on that forum has some experience with your problem.

there is a drive cable for both sliders - pull them out of the center front drive mechanism where the gear has broken and try to spin each one manually (figure out which direction will move the seat forward) if they both spin and you can get the seat to move you can manually or with a drill move each side a little at a time . If they don't move have someone wiggle the seat while you try to spin the one that is bound if there is something in the rail jamming it you will need to clear that first. good luck

Many thanks. I used the detox and still no action from the switch. Is it as simple as pulling the cables out of the motor?

Next issue will be locating replacement gears. Any thought? Is this a dealer only item?

Thanks
