suspention

I want to install new coil overs and wanted to know If anyone was using the monoball shock mounts for street use? This seems like a better way to go and it's cheaper than the stock rubber mounts. I'm going to install the bilstein pss10 struts. I know on my vw with the stronger suspension I would break the stock bearing plates so I went with poly mounts and they held up nice.

You'll have some more NVH but its possible to live with depending on how sensitive you are.

Mr. Alex
I am new to the Porsche family. Just purchased a 1991 964 (also new to forums like this one) and I live in Houston TX... which is the land of the obnoxious 10 billion reflectors on the "concrete" roads.... so I was wondering how to tame the suspension.. right now it feels like a rock and this car is a daily driver not a track car. thank you.

This is a great forum, but its a bit more inclined to pre-964 era cars. I'd recommend the 964 section on rennlist which has a lot more active members and information on the car. It depends on what your goals are with the suspension, whether you want something a bit upgraded and a little lower but still comfy. Or something a bit stiffer, etc.

An easy go to for option number one would be Bilstein HD shocks with eibach springs. Perhaps to also overhaul the control arm bushings with the elephant racing sportier rubber bushings, or you can go the poly route if you want something stiffer and a bit more solid.

Thank you.

Wallra, was your ride softer? can you define the improvement. I want this car to be a daily driver so I am looking for a forgiving set up.

I've only owned my car for one month. The struts on it were shot and I blew the rear out.I can only tell you from what I had to what it is now is like night and day.I have the settings set at 5 and the ride is nice and smooth. These strut were shorter that the factory one's I took out and I thought I was going to get a harsh ride and thats not what I wanted because this car will be driven on the street. I think it was a great move for what I did but I have nothing to compare it to.
