Tell me about 993 valve lifter brands.
I see the Ina ones for sale at Pelican. I bought a set elsewhere many years ago, just in case. I just pulled them out of storage and noted that seven of them are in individual baggies with decals that read "993 105 141 05 LUK" on them. Five others are in a plastic packet from Ruville with the same part number. They all look identical, none have "INA" stamped on them. What's the difference, quality or otherwise, between Luk and Ruville?

Rick,
I've long thought that INA was the only manufacturer of these, and that any other names were just private label/co-branding efforts. I recently helped a friend install a complete set of new INA lifters in his early '95. They were perfect in all respects. We found a great price on the world wide interwebz, so I promptly purchased a set for myself. ![]() The "05" part number is for the NA motors, while "03" is for the turbo motors. Andreas

Thanks. Turns out mine are Ina. It's just that my eyes are too weak, even with readers, to make out the Ina stamp.
