964 Glovebox door

The lock / latch seems to have gone out of position. It unlocks and turns but not quite enough to allow the door to open. I've jiggled it without avail and am reluctant to force it to turn a bit more on it's own or with the key in. Is there a trick anyone knows, an alternate way to release the door or a way in from the back?
