New to the 993 Forum
I need a pricing opinion on a 1995 993 (2) with 59k miles that is Black on the outside and tan on the inside, which I am looking at right now. The car looks very good via the pictures that I have seen. It also has all paperwork and sticker price. Clean title and no accidents.
The car is in Main and I am in Cali. The asking price is fair, but just wanted to get some feedback. Thanx, Serge ![]() ![]() |

That's a great color combo
Obviously depends on cosmetic and mechanical condition Strongly recommend good ppi from an extremity knowledgeable porsche shop since you are not there yourself It's gonna cost you a little over $1,500 for closed carrier back to Cali Emissions in Cali can be an issue, keep that in mind during ppi and Prob should get it smog tested and see if the numbers would pass in Cali Range is Prob 40-55k from private seller...that is my best estimate Good luck |

My input would be 35,000-45,000 unless it's outstanding. Looks like a non orig radio. That always bothers me. I'm sort of basing it on what I paid for mine 2 yrs ago
which was mid twenties. I know they've appreciated a lot since then. A bit hard to guess on just 2 pics. IMO only |

FWIW. That car looked familiar so careful of that car as it's being advertised on a different location, with different mileage etc but using the same picture with same house in background. With 92,*** something miles.
Also asking a laughably low price of $16,200. Be careful something stinks ![]() Last edited by yellowperil; 04-23-2015 at 04:00 PM.. |

Yea, I figured it was a scam, as the price on Craigslist in LA is 12,5000😄. Owner did reply with an email but never with her contact info!
Thanx all!! |

Here is further info for future reference on the scam..this is a portion of the mail I received:
Hi, sorry for the late answer, my younger daughter just suffered a surgical intervention and she is in hospital in this moment.... The car has been extremely well maintained with a full service history, only 52,200 miles! Everything works in the car, lights, gauges, radio, windows, locks, a/c blows ice cold, etc... It has no leaks or drips and does not smoke at all, slightly used in 100% working and looking conditions with a clear title free of liens. I'm selling it because my daughter is in hospital, has a cancerous tumor and I need money for treatment. The total price is $18,500 including delivery and handling to your address. I am desperate and I need to sell it fast, before 7th May of that being the reason for selling it so low. My husband and I divorced last month, after the divorce I was awarded the car. Because I'm very busy with my daughter I decided to sell it online through eBay because they protect both: buyer & seller. The car is stored with all the paperwork at a storehouse in Palm Harbor, Florida in the custody of a transport company. If you're interested to conclude this purchase in a timely manner email me back. Sincerely, Patricia 1995 PORSCHE 911 CARRERA2/4 VIN: WP0AA2998SS321130

I thought I saw a post on Rennlist recently with someone that just bought this vehicle. They posted the exact same picture.

This is definitely a major pfishing scam of some sort. Variations of that ad are on craigslist in at least 15 different locations in the US with pricing ranging from $12K to $18K. I've seen this before - these guys cut and paste a legit posting and use it to lure responses on cl. For what purpose I don't know, but I'd advise not responding to any cl ad that looks too good to be true.

Now in 993 land ...
|
The "Ebay escrow" does not exist. It is a fake website. Not sure how the funds are collected but probably by western union ...
Glad you dodged this one. There are no 18k 993 that are in one piece. G |

I showed interest in a very similar Mercedes B ad on Craigslist a few months back. At the point you want a PPI or try to arrange to see the car they go silent......FYI.

Brenda is still trying to sell it. Price went up to 13K although it somehow is now a 993 manufactured in 94. I heard you can get Euro 993's in 1994. Alas she sent me the VIN#, exact same as above, for a 95.
Here's the note: Hello Jarrett, I'm replying you regarding the '94 Porsche 911 that I have for sale. The condition of the car is excellent, no mechanical problems, very well maintained, never wrecked or involved in an accident, title clear, legally under my name, you can find the pictures attached to this email. I am selling it for $13,000. Because of my divorce settlement, I own this car and I don`t need it, so I'm trying to sell it asap. I gave the car to eBay shipping company in Omaha, NE who will deliver it to the next owner. The transaction will be made through eBay Payments for our own safety. The best part about this is that you'll get 5 days of inspection and shipping for free. If you're interested in purchasing it just e-mail me your full name and shipping address so I can initiate the deal through eBay and they will contact you to explain the entire procedure. Thank you, Brenda She had the exact same pics as above. Tempted to keep stringing her along. The strangest part is some guy texted me this morning saying I responded to his ad, for 964, but the car was his sister's and that I should email her. Tried calling him back but he didn't pick up. Anyone got any ideas on the best ways to mess with these people and waste as much of their time as possible? |
