Removing firewall

I'm removing my firewall to replace my heater/blower motors. I ran into a problem moving the fuse panel. Looking for some help. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1463371054.jpg

Can I cut these wires?

I believe that is some form of GPS tracking device like Lo-jack or some brand. Do you plan to keep it? If not you need to find out how it is installed otherwise cutting the wires could leave the car inoperable.

It was part of a hard wired cell phone from one of the previous owners.

OK makes sense, that was my other thought.

I personally would trace all the wires before I cut or removed anything. There must be marks left from the mounting of the phone. Most likely you will find wires there possibly one or more to the radio and a few to the ignition switch and possibly tapped into the underside of the fuse panel. My concern would be if there was a mute or override to the radio when calls came in so you would want to make sure any splices in the harness are fixed. Once you traced all the wires and verify there are no splices you can cut away and then I would remove as much of the wires as possible.

It is a PITA job but usually worth doing properly. I like to take pictures of the wires under the dash. It makes it much easier than having to climb in and out on your back.

Good luck
