The indicator lights on the speedometer (Tiptronic Speedometer)
 

964 C2 Cabriolet 1991 Tiptronic Transmission.

When the car is in the automatic mode the indicator lights scale number of gear 1-2-3-4 not working, is it normal for this model year? but when the car is in the tiptronic mode the indicator lights scale number of gear 1-2-3-4 working properly.

Anyone having the same problem?:confused:

This is normal for year 91 Tiptronic model. Yours working fine.

Checked mine out ('90 C2 )and found that ALL indicator lights in the speedometer light up for each gear selected whether in the auto mode or the tip. Left hand drive of course.
If the gear selector is on the left (auto) D, 3, 2, 1 lights up as selected
If the gear selector is on the right (Tip) 4, 3, 2,1 light as selected . (Won't shift into gear 1 unless down shifting about 25 miles/hour or bring the RPM's up while bumping 1 gear.
