What is this wire under my seat?

I was removing my seats and carpet due to a rather intense smoke smell in my newly-acquired 993. After unclipping the main power seat plug, I removed the seat to see this unwelcome sight.

The now cut wires - a black and a brown - had gotten wrapped in the spiral mechanism that moves the seat fore and aft. (I get to extract that later today as the mechanism worked but was labored.) These wires are smaller than the other power wires.

So what the heck does this go to? Or what does it operate? I don't recall anything not working, but something is definitely no operating as Porsche intended, whatever it may be. Any insights?

Under which seat - passenger or driver (l/h or r/h)?

Also, is there an unconnected and loose connector/pin housing around there somewhere, like the one in the image?

Thanks so much for your reply. I ended up finding the other end all chewed up in the seat mechanism. It is for the seat belt warning buzzer/light. I re connected the wires and it all goes nicely back together.

The one you showed is indeed the main power harness connnector, a stout little affair that is difficult to separate with one hand as you attempt to hold the heavy seat with the other!

Thank you again for the reply.

Glad you're all sorted. Yup, there are plenty of connectors, controllers, relays etc hidden under both seats (throw in nightmare custom audio installations and associated amateur cabling too).
